Knog Scout Bike Alarm & Finder

The Knog Scout does two jobs: it is a motion alarm that screams when the bike is moved, and it is an Apple Find My device so you can locate it like an AirTag. It bolts to the bottle-cage bosses with security screws and is controlled from the Knog app. The alarm is loud enough to make a thief reconsider a quick grab, and it arms and disarms automatically as your phone comes and goes. It is iPhone-only for the Find My function. Rechargeable via USB-C. It works best as a layer on top of a real lock, not a substitute.

Apple AirTag (with hidden bike mount)

An AirTag is not a GPS tracker — it relies on nearby iPhones to report its location through the Find My network — but in a populated area like the Dallas suburbs that network is dense enough to locate a stolen e-bike surprisingly often. The trick is hiding it: under the saddle in a purpose-made mount, inside a bell-shaped mount, in a reflector housing or under a bottle cage. Thieves know to look, so pick a mount that is not obvious. Battery life is about a year on a coin cell. Android users should look at Tile or a Google Find My Device tracker instead.

Best for: iPhone owners · Urban and suburban parking · Pairing with a good lock

Wsdcam Wireless Bike Alarm with Remote

This is the archetype of the inexpensive vibration alarm sold widely online: a small box that straps or bolts to the frame, a key-fob remote to arm and disarm, adjustable sensitivity and a loud siren. It costs very little, runs on a rechargeable battery or coin cells depending on the version, and will startle a casual thief. It is also prone to false alarms in wind or when a bike rack neighbor bumps you until you dial the sensitivity down. Treat it as a deterrent layer for low-risk parking — not as security on its own.

Best for: Budget theft deterrence · Garage or apartment bike rooms · Kids' and secondary bikes

Kryptonite Evolution Mini-7 U-Lock with FlexFrame Bracket

The Evolution Mini-7 is the practical middle ground: a 13 mm hardened shackle that resists most bolt cutters, a 7-inch opening that actually fits around a wheel and rack, and a frame bracket so it rides on the bike instead of in a backpack. Many listings bundle a braided cable for the front wheel. It is lighter than the New York series and a good match for a commuter e-bike worth one to two thousand dollars parked in moderate-risk spots. For overnight outdoor parking in a city you will want to step up to an 18 mm shackle or pair this with a chain.

Best for: Daily commuters in suburban and campus settings · Riders who want the lock mounted to the frame · Mid-value e-bikes
