The HT118A is one of the popular auto-ranging budget meters, with a big backlit display, true-RMS AC, DC volts to 1000 V, current ranges, capacitance, temperature and a non-contact voltage detector. Auto-ranging makes it friendly for beginners: set it to DC volts and it figures out the range. Accuracy is good enough for e-bike battery and charger checks. Build quality is not Fluke, and the leads are average, but for occasional diagnostic use it is more than adequate.
